Douglas P. Radunz was born at Patuxent River Naval Base near Washington, D.C. Doug's father was stationed there with the U.S. Navy. Doug was raised in Bloomington, Minnesota, and graduated from high school at Thomas Jefferson High School in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Doug obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree (four year degree) from the University of Minnesota. His two majors were psychology and philosophy.

Doug graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1981. During his years as a student, he worked at the law firm of Sween, Salazar & Barry, Ltd. as a law clerk.

Prior to taking the bar exam, Doug continued his work for that firm in many areas including divorce, corporate law, real estate, and litigation. He joined the firm as an associate upon admittance to the Minnesota Bar on November 1, 1981.

After developing a client base through the mid-1980's, Doug formed his solo practice law firm in April 1987. His first office was located in the Thresher Square building near the Metrodome, a scene of much activity when the Twins won the World Series in October 1987. In late 1991, Doug moved his law office to his present location at the 24th floor of the Centre Village building, less than a block away from the Hennepin County Government Center in downtown Minneapolis.

Doug has been selected as a "Super Lawyer" every year since 2002.
